Description

This project, led by Medici per i Diritti Umani (MEDU) in partnership with Niger’s National Mental Health Program (PNSM) and the Nigerien association Alternative Espaces Citoyens (AEC), aims to improve mental health and well-being in Niger. Over 36 months, the project will support the PNSM by upgrading infrastructure, training staff, and raising public awareness. Key goals include establishing child psychiatry services in Niamey, Maradi, and Tahoua, enhancing mental health skills among health professionals and community actors, and improving governance and public awareness of mental health issues.

By integrating mental health into essential health services and addressing gaps in care for children and adolescents, the initiative seeks to create sustainable improvements in Niger’s mental health landscape.

THINK GLOBAL has been tasked with conducting the mid-term evaluation of the project funded by AICS.
